The photos of Amalie Markota Andersen’s little rat, Darius have lately been under the public eye for his ingenious talent. And what’s that? The rat can draw paintings with his feet!
Andersen adopted a timid and furry Darius in 2017 when she was facing a rough phase in life and trying to rediscover herself. He had brought back some light in her dull life.
Andersen is a digital arts and animation student residing in Askim, Norway. On a particular day, Andersen dipped the rat’s limbs in some non-toxic watercolors and let him walk all-around a blank paper until it looked like a piece of art. She then took to social media and shared his paintings.
The responses were positive and in abundance. Darius’ photos with his paintings have gone viral and attracted a huge audience. This made her excited and motivated her next move. She sold those paintings and invested the money in buying a harness for him so that he could go outdoors safely.
However, the rat passed away in 2019 leaving back his owner heartbroken. Andersen, sometimes, regrets selling the paintings for she is left with none to treasure for life. But what makes her happy is the fact that it is beautifying somebody’s house with its presence.
