The earth was always a bountiful place with so much beauty and greenery that our present imagination can’t even envision it. But it is not like that anymore. Humans happened and they came and destroyed most of the beauty of the earth. It seemed like humans did not really want anything beautiful to remain intact.
Here are 8 tourist attractions no longer exists. These places were once a spectacular site, but have become isolated and forgotten because of human intervention:
1. Tree of Tenere
An isolated tree may not be something that will draw the attention of many people, but when that isolated tree is surviving in the harshest of conditions, then it must be a miracle. Tree of Tenere was the most remote tree on the planet which withstood climate changes and stood tall. But it was broken down by the careless driving of a truck driver.
2. Bolivia – Lake Poopo
Once, it was a large lake. Lake Poopo as seen from the satellite image looked amazing. It looks clean and full and above all, it looked beautiful. But human beings destroy everything. With global warming, the lake began to dry up. Then, we began to use it for farming and then mining, and soon enough, the lake was nowhere to be found.
3. Paris – Pont Des Arts
It was once a very famous place for couples. They used to hang a padlock here as a testament of their love. Now, the bridge got about 45 tons heavier and was almost about to break and cause harm to the monuments and places around it. Thankfully, officials came and took down all the locks from the bridge.
4. Phi Phi Island
This was one of those places which looked great because of unpolluted weather and clear water. But now, due to pollution and climate change, it has transformed into a cesspool. Nobody visits it now and the water is no longer the beautiful blue that is once was.
5. Raja Ampat Island
This was the most marvellous underwater coral present on earth. But then, ship wreckers and pollution lead it towards its death and now, all the charm that this beautiful coral once carried is lost forever.
6. Cave Of Altamira
This is one of the best pieces of artefacts that we have of the Paleolithic period – its art. Of course, it became a tourist spot. But with too much crowd, the painting slowly deteriorated. An algae mould was formed on it that ruined it completely. Now, the cave has been closed and we hope it recovers. But we don’t keep our hopes high.
7. Boeung Kak Lake
Boeung Kak Lake was a place that people would visit to watch the setting sun as it cast its final rays across the lake. Now, with trash and plastic floating on the river, no one is willing to come to this place anymore.
8. Goblins of Utah
This was such a wonderful formation that people would see and be amazed. But then, two boys came and destroyed the formation. Later on, they cheered, not understanding the gravity of what they had done. Now, no visitor is allowed to enter this place.
