The Safe Haven Pet Sanctuary is truly a safe haven for disabled cats. Many cats are left with animal shelters because of their disabilities or even old age. And shelters are forced to opt for euthanasia for various reasons. But SHPS takes these cats in and cares for them.
A 75 years old volunteer who comes in every single day. The best part? He takes naps with these lovely animals every afternoon! One day Terry Lauerman turned up at this local cat sanctuary with a cat brush and has returned each day since.
He enjoys caring for the cats for about 3 hours each day. He grooms them and soon people noticed how this old man would fall asleep on the couches. And the cats couldn’t resist this warm person! They swarm him and they all take naps together.
The staff at the sanctuary mention how Terry just turned up one day and wanted to brush the cats. The cats did not mind his warm hands and the staff was happy to gain an extra caregiver.
They found the bond between the cats and the sleeping man extremely adorable and posted some images on Facebook. It went viral in no time.
Elizabeth Feldhausen, the founder of the shelter hopes his popularity would help them gain some donations to take care of these cats.
